Utility Pole: Bringing high-speed internet to all of Ontario
Ontario is fast-tracking the provision of fibre optic high-speed internet to households and businesses in every region of Ontario using existing hydro poles and related infrastructure.
What is Utility Pole?
Utility Pole is the access point for businesses, municipalities, districts, etc. to engage with the Accelerated High-Speed Internet Program (AHSIP), the provincial government’s initiative to accelerate access to high-speed internet connectivity for households and businesses in every region of Ontario.
In 2022, Ontario committed nearly $4 billion and announced signed agreements with eight internet service providers to deploy fibre optic-quality internet to some 266,000 unserved and underserved families, farms and businesses province-wide.
This website portal is the first point of engagement for parties interested in getting involved in AHSIP.
